About The Tamarind:
Set within Spicers Tamarind Retreat is The Tamarind Restaurant. With the Kitchen team led by Head Chef Dan Jarrett, The Tamarind has earned an enviable reputation on the Sunshine Coast for Asian cuisine. Recently awarded one Chef Hat in the 2020 Australian Good Food Guide, our menu effortlessly combines sweet, sour and spicy flavours with fresh local produce – the perfect meeting of traditional and new.
About the role:
Reporting to Ty Pope, our amazing Restaurant Manager, you will learn from one of Spicers long-term leaders whose knowledge and charm is famous with the locals in Maleny. In this role, you will be integral in delivering our exciting food and beverage offerings and personalised service to our guests.
Duties:
- Showcasing and explaining our menu offerings;
- Suggesting suitable food & beverage options according to guests preferences;
- Taking guest orders and delivering food with a passionate explanation of dish components.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Previous experience in fine dining or similar environment (essential);
- Knowledge of fine wine and an ability to recommend wines to guests (desirable);
- A proactive approach and positive attitude;
- Ability and willingness to work a variety of shifts including work weekends and evenings.
